We are looking for a passionate and driven Medical Assistant for our rapidly growing Washington D.C./Maryland market representing a critical part of our care delivery team.
Responsibilities:
- Contact patients to schedule date/time for provider visits
- Perform patient evaluations and submit it to the Medical Director (wound pictures and wound measurements).
- Responsible for drawing blood from patients
- Confirm you have the proper supplies for patient visits for provider, order supplies, and making sure bag is properly stocked at all times
- Assisting provider in procedures with direction from provider
- Provide effective, efficient, professional, and timely communication with patient, family, coworkers, management and care partners.
- Take notes from provider and input into EMR and other related documentation
- Traveling to patient homes
- Report to Director of Operations, Washington D.C./Maryland
- Position consists of riding in car with Wound Care Nurse
- Assist in implementation of United Woundcare Institute’s clinical and operational protocols.
- All other tasks and action items as requested and approved by leadership.
Qualifications for this position:
- Medical Assistant Diploma
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Ability to and willingness to travel, treating patients in their homes (Washington D.C. and throughout Maryland).
- Experience in Wound Care is a plus, not necessary.
Considerations:
- Position is a mobile position with higher-than-average travel time.
- Position involves direct patient care, potentially heavy lifting, etc.
- Position does allow work-from-home status per leadership and requirements (subject to change at any time).
- Wound care is performed at the patient’s residence, and regional facilities.
