United Woundcare Institute is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Assistant to support the HR team with onboarding, offboarding, and other administrative tasks. This role will be responsible for ensuring a seamless transition for new hires, handling employee exits professionally and maintaining accurate HR records. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a passion for creating a positive employee experience.
The HR Assistant will report to the Director of HR. This is a remote position; however, some travel may be required. Candidates in the ET or CT time zones are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding and New Hire Support
· Manage the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring new hires have a smooth and welcoming experience.
· Prepare and distribute offer letters and onboarding documents.
· Ensure completion of pre-employment requirements (background checks, employment verification, etc.).
· Coordinate with IT, Credentialing, and Training teams to set up new hires with equipment, system access, and workspace, and job training.
· Conduct new hire orientations, explaining company policies, benefits, and expectations.
· Maintain and update onboarding materials to enhance the new hire experience.
Offboarding & Employee Exits
· Facilitate the offboarding process, ensuring all necessary steps are completed for departing employees.
· Collect and process exit paperwork, including benefits termination.
· Coordinate the return of company property (laptops, badges, access cards, etc.).
· Schedule and document exit interviews, gathering feedback for HR and leadership.
· Work with IT and Credentials teams to revoke system access in a timely manner.
HR Administration & General Support
· Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems and personnel files.
· Assist with HRIS reporting, including new hire setup.
· Assist in HR reporting and audits, ensuring proper documentation.
· Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
· Support HR projects and initiatives to improve employee experience and engagement.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
· 1-3 years of experience in HR, onboarding, or administrative roles. Preferably experience in a startup or fast growth environment.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
· Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Prior experience in a remote environment is required.
